Practicing EFIT Approach Training – Level 1

February 25 @ 9:30 am - February 26 @ 5:00 pm SMT
This is your chance to be part of a new movement in therapy! Recommended for psychology trainees, fresh graduates, experienced professionals, and teachers. A MINIMUM of 12 people needed to be confirmed 10 days before the start date.  Otherwise, your payments will be refunded. EFIT, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy is based on the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach by Dr. Sue Johnson, her standard of couples treatment, and hundreds of studies on human attachment and emotion… Ammar Abuzahra (a senior counselor for couples and individuals) introduces his hands-on experience with using EFIT, a new evidence-based approach that is expected to be the gold standard for treating individuals with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions, in addition to many more. Since EFIT is supported by more than 3 decades of research on attachments and clinical experiences, it is seen to be one of the most effective approaches to get to the heart of clients’ problems.  The EFIT process also provides techniques to guide clients through their overwhelming vulnerability as they progress toward healing and growth. There is no other individual therapy available that is fully compatible with and based on the attachment theory of human emotion … and you can be one of the first clinicians in Malaysia to learn practical ways to implement this model in your practice. In this level 1 training, Mr. Ammar will provide participants with a fundamental understanding of the EFT model, as well as the overall roadmap for treatment in individual therapy, and key interventions. At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
  • Adopt an attachment humanistic perspective on clients, problems, and interventions
  • Understand the impact of trauma from an attachment perspective
  • Understand some of the key principles surrounding assessment and case formulation in EFIT
  • Discover and distill core emotional experiences and promote emotional balance
  • Outline protective, self-defining and interactional patterns
  • Begin to implement the five moves of the EFT Tango to shape corrective emotional experiences
  • Describe the micro-interventions of the EFT/EFIT model
