ADHD is one of the most common childhood disorders, with estimates suggesting that between 5% and 10% of children worldwide have ADHD. It affects boys more than girls, although this discrepancy may be partly due to differences in diagnosis rates. Although ADHD is commonly diagnosed in childhood, it can also persist into adulthood.
