Clinical Psychology Intern

Background

Aina is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical and Counseling Psychology at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences majoring in Psychology from IIUM. She has received training from Psychology Center in IIUM and Pusat Perubatan UiTM Sungai Buloh. Her main treatment approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has also used techniques of Supportive Therapy under an experienced supervisor. Additionally, she is trained to conduct a number of psychological assessments with both adults and children (e.g. IQ tests). She also has experience working with individuals with anxiety disorders, depression, self-esteem issues, learning, and behavioral problems, as well as children with neurodevelopmental disorders (Intellectual Disability, Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia). Currently, she researches adolescent emotion regulation interventions.


Aina is an intuitive person by nature and genuinely interested in people, particularly in human connection. She cares about listening to people and developing an understanding of them and the difficulties they are experiencing with a view to helping them deal with problems and develop a better life. She believes that everyone is unique and it is important to recognize differences without being judgmental. She will respect your own rights and values, to acknowledge your experiences and to assist you in reaching your goals.
